Outside the box
Posted in General | No Comments »Soon, I am going on a vacation to Maui. I CAN’T WAIT, especially since a tsunami didn’t hit the island.
In an effort to capitalize on an amazing trip, I have decided to go “out of my box”. My box, while on vacation, basically consists of sitting on the beach, taking naps, reading, playing with the kids (if they’re with me) and eating tremendous amounts of food (God, I love a buffet breakfast).
While perusing a few websites, I happened upon an adventure page:

Apparently, there are some pretty awesome things to do in Maui. So, I guess I have to sacrifice some beach time.
Let me explain a few things: I hate flying, I hate heights, and I am the antithesis of an adrenaline junkie. The only time my blood pressure and pulse get elevated is either when I’m pissed off or exercising.
Then G sent me that website and told me there were a few things on there that he would like to do.
So, I thought, let me take a look. The first thing I agreed to was to go zip lining. Of course, I will report how that goes. I’m pretty sure the people on the beach on Oahu will hear me screaming at the top of my lungs. It’s not enough that the zip line experience G wants to do is actually four or five different lines with speeds of up to 55 mph. Did I mention I make myself fall if I’m skiing too fast because I’m terrified of speed?
God, I’m a chicken!
So, why did I agree to do this?
Click on the above link and check out the pictures.
Doesn’t it look amazing? I figured that the actually experience should outweigh my sheer terror.
Or, I could take a Xanax beforehand!
I think the experience will be all the better because I will share it with G. Just think of the fodder he will gather to torture and tease me with in years to come!
So, if I can do it, why not you? I think every 37 years or so you should step out of your box and just go for it. It may well be worth it.
I will let you know! (in case you don’t hear those screams).
