Expectations

Every family has its ups and downs.  Mine is no exception.

When you lose the ability to communicated rationally, relationships suffer.  We all have expectations of each other, but if they are not clearly defined, how can we meet them?

Instead of communicating, certain members of my family (and you know who you are!) are going for the jugular.  These two are so similar in their pig-headedness, that they refuse to focus on what is important.  The important factor in this particular argument is two small children.

Unfortunately, there are years of discontent and failure to meet expectations to combat with here.  Instead of solving this issue early on by TALKING TO EACH OTHER, they establish a temporary detente until the next year when it starts up all over again.  Grrrrr!

The two REASONABLE members of the family (that would include me, of course) have tried to play mediator, but neither side wants to budge.  What a pair of stubborn pain in the asses!!!!!!!

I won’t get into specifics because that would mean airing dirty laundry.  The point is, neither side will be able to move on from this annual free-for-all until they actually sit down and talk to each other in calm, rational, adult voices.

When the whole thing is broken down, it’s really ridiculous.  It’s like each side needs to throw their temper tantrum.  Throw emotion into the mix and WATCH OUT!

This is not a game and no one is keeping a scorecard (though if you ask those two, they will say that I am totally wrong about this).

Since this whole thing is really about making kids happy, I say the two bullheads need to take a breather and chill out!!!!!!!

To make matters worse, I’m going to visit all of them this week.  I like living far away so I can stay out of it!!!!!

Communication is always key to good, healthy, fulfilling relationships.

So to M and M (they even have the same initials), GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
